Radiator Problems, Coolant Leaks & Overheating
If your temperature gauge keeps creeping up or you’ve noticed coolant leaks under your car, it’s time to have your cooling system checked. Our mechanics diagnose problems quickly using modern scan tools and hands-on checks to pinpoint issues before they get worse.
We pressure test radiators, inspect fans and belts, and flush out old coolant that can block internal passages. Whether your vehicle has a diesel or petrol engine, we tailor our cooling system repairs to your car’s make and model.
When you drop your car off, you can take advantage of our local shuttle, too. Contact our team today!
What does a car cooling system do?
A car cooling system regulates engine temperature by circulating coolant through the engine and radiator. It absorbs excess heat from the engine and releases it through the radiator, preventing overheating. The system includes the radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses and coolant. Without it, engine components can warp, crack or fail due to extreme heat during operation.
How do I know if my car’s cooling system is failing?
Common signs include engine overheating, coolant leaks, low coolant levels, a sweet smell from the engine bay, steam from the bonnet or the temperature gauge reading high. You might also hear strange noises from the water pump or notice poor heater performance. These symptoms suggest a problem that should be checked before major engine damage occurs.
Why is my car overheating even with coolant?
Overheating despite full coolant could indicate a stuck thermostat, faulty water pump, clogged radiator, broken radiator fan or air pockets in the cooling system. It may also indicate a head gasket issue. Diagnosing the exact cause requires pressure testing, thermal readings and component inspections to rule out multiple potential failures.
